Process
European Christian churches have featured stained glass as early as the third or fourth century, and thrived during the rise of Gothic cathedrals in the 12th century. Kehinde Wiley’s stained glass pieces use the same materials as their historical counterparts, but the design comes together with modern technology aides. In this digital study, Wiley has used computer imaging software to merge studio photography of his models into flattened colored shapes that together form the window portraits.
